Research Associate

Nick Oakey is an undergraduate research assistant pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor in anthropology. Nick is currently working on the Reasons for Living project. His research interests include culturally specific cognitive behavioral interventions, especially in minority adolescent populations, and developmental theory relative to adolescent psychopathology. Nick plans to pursue a Ph.D in Counseling Psychology.

Gry WheatonGry Wheaton
Research Associate

Gry is an undergraduate research associate at the NCVS majoring in psychology. Gry served in the Danish Army from 2002-2011. She was lead research associate for a social media project assessing suicide ideation and risk across social media platforms. She is currently working on her thesis on relationship factors in relation to deployment and subsequent mental health outcomes. She plans to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology. Gry's research interests include military mental health with a focus on empirically based treatments.
